Description
The Land Warfare Centre badge builds directly upon the historic symbolism of the British Army’s central command, emphasizing its role in generating combat power and “combined arms manoeuvre.”
-
The Double Crossed Swords: The focal point of the insignia features a dual interpretation of the iconic British Army crossed swords. In the background sits the standard, stylized crossed swords of the General Staff. Layered directly over them are two highly detailed, unsheathed, Crusader-style pattern swords with points facing upward.
-
The Crown: Resting at the apex of the swords is the Royal Crown. Depending on the era of issue, this will either feature the St. Edward’s Crown or the Tudor Crown (reinstated under King Charles III), symbolizing that the training, experimentation, and warfighting doctrine developed at the centre are executed under the authority of the Sovereign.
-
The Shield/Backing: The entire graphic is enclosed within a crisp, rectangular or shield-shaped boundary, depending on whether it is rendered as a woven combat patch or a printed command sign.
